Nutrition and Physical Activity

A nutrition and physical activity health educator is active in the counties covered by the Pennyrile District Health Department. Educational Programs are available relation to the way we nourish our bodies and incorporate physical activity into our daily lives. It is the goal of the nutrition and physical activity education program to combat obesity and cardiovascular disease, and educate the community on other health problems affected or caused by poor diet and physical activity. Programs on cardiovascular disease, weight loss, physical activity, diabetes education, arthritis, and an overall healthy way of eating are available.

PDHD offers the Arthritis Foundation program; you can strengthen muscles, improve flexibility and boost your mood and self-confidence.
