OPEN POSITIONS:


Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Nutritionist I

The Pennyrile District Health Department is accepting applications for a full time Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Nutritionist I to be housed within the Pennyrile District Health Department. The starting salary is $22 per hour, negotiable with additional experience. Benefits will be offered. The MNT Nutritionist I will serve under the direction of the Director of Nursing.

General duties include but are not limited to:

· Perform work of moderate to complex nutrition case management of medically high-risk individuals including physician prescribed dietary and nutrition regimens and intensive counseling (Medical Nutrition Therapy/MNT)

· Perform work of moderate to complex management in the application of nutrition judgment and skill

· Participate in on-the-job training activities to deliver basic nutrition and MNT services (group and/or individual contact) based upon programmatic skills, competencies and requirements

· Assess basic and/or MNT nutrition status of individuals and develop a basic and/or MNT nutrition plan appropriate for each client or client group according to programmatic criteria

· Interpret current research regarding basic nutrition and MNT and provide technical assistance and consultation for other health care professionals

· Obtain a National Provider Identification (NPI) number for reimbursement for MNT services

· Assess community nutrition needs.

· Develop and implement community events and programs

· Collaborate with state and community agencies

· Plan and deliver in-service training and education for public health personnel

· Maintain quality of services in accordance with agency policies and as outlined in the Core Clinical Service Guide (CCGS) and Administrative Reference (AR)

· Provide general technical assistance and consultation to schools, health professionals, co-workers, community organizations, and the general public on nutrition.

Special Requirements: Must be a Licensed Dietitian (LD) as provided by the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification as provided in KRS 310.021 or be certified as a Certified Nutritionist (CN) by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure and Certification as provided in KRS 310.031.

Public Health Registered Nurse I

The Pennyrile District Health Department is accepting applications for a full time Public Health Registered Nurse I for Pennyrile District. The starting salary is $22 per hour, negotiable with additional experience. Benefits will be offered. The Public Health Registered Nurse I will serve under the direction of the Director of Nursing.

General duties include but are not limited to:

· Providing basic entry level nursing care and assessments to all clients consistent with the Public Health Practice Reference, Nursing Scope, and Standards of Practice

· Providing WIC, immunization, EPSDT exams and STI assessment and treatment to clients according to standards of the Core Clinical Service Guide (CCSG) and Administrative Reference (AR)

· Maintaining confidentiality and privacy according to guidelines

· Developing and conducting educational counseling and teaching activities for individual clients and families

· Utilizing basic awareness of community resources

· Completing required trainings

· Maintaining RN licensure in Kentucky

Support Services Associate II – Clinical 

The Pennyrile District Health Department is accepting applications for a full time Support Services Associate II – Clinical to travel to all 5 of our County Health Departments.  Mileage will be paid to travel to each health department.  The starting salary is $16 per hour, negotiable with additional experience.  Benefits will be offered.  Paper applications may be obtained at the Caldwell, Crittenden, Livingston, Lyon or Trigg County local health departments and online at https://pennyrilehealth.org

General Duties include:  This position serves under the direction of the Support Services Supervisor.  Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: 

    • Fully aware of operating policies and procedures of the work unit
    • Ability to perform all computer data entry including electronic medical records system
    • Balancing of monthly service fees and inputting data into excel spreadsheets
    • Properly coding A/R payments and manually posting them
    • Ability to maintain alphabetical, numerical, and subject filing systems
    • Operate and compute amounts using electronic equipment
    • Working knowledge of reports and proper supply ordering, entry, and billing
    • Ability to multi-task:  answering outside phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, sending medical records. 
    • Staying up to date on services offered and guidelines to answer questions from the public in a timely manner
    • Working with COVID team to disseminate information to the public and for epi response.  Maintaining and filing records for COVID team

 Minimum Education, Training or Experience:  High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of professional business or public administrative experience in a medical, hospital or administrative office environment using electronic office equipment and professional software.
